May we all have generous hearts.

Devastating. Although us Northerners feel safe from hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, and other similar devastations we certainly are not safe from forrest fires which are very real as we have seen in Slave Lake. I remember one weekend a few years ago (probably over 10 yrs ago) being at Folk on the Rocks and it was raining ashes. We were black from head to toe from the ash coming from a forrest fire. I remember there was talk about evacuating Yellowknife and if the winds were not in our favour that is what would have happened. Being young, I didn’t take it too seriously. Seeing Slave Lake’s devastation makes me realize that we were very lucky. This can happen to any of our small towns and cities. May we have generous hearts and reach out to Slave Lake. Help in any way you can.

Here is some information that I found if you do want to help out by donating money or items. Click here for donations.

Please pray for the people of Slave Lake. Our neighbours and fellow Canadians and fellow human beings.
